Introduction
If the Power button on your Monte Capro Ultra or Monte Capro Lite stops working and your bike will no longer turn on you will need to replace that button. Follow this guide for steps on how to do so!
You will need the following tools:
3mm Allen Key
Needlenose Pliers
Wire Stripping and crimping tool
Heatshrink
You can also substitute Electrical Tape for this
1/4" Spade Connectors or 1/4" Butt Splice Connectors
Step 1
Remove the two circled bolts at the bottom of the upper half of the downtube that attaches the battery lock to the bike. With the bolts removed, you can slightly rotate and wiggle the lock mount so it can be slid out from the frame.
Step 2
Locate the Power Button and attachment nut located behind the lock mount you removed in the previous step.
There will be a nut holding the Power Button tight to the frame. Loosen and fully remove this nut from the inside of the frame - you should be able to do this by hand.
With the nut removed from the Power Button assembly can be pulled outside of the frame as illustrated in the second image
The Nut should still be inside the frame. It should stay safely on the wire going into the bike.
From Here you can proceed in one of two possible ways:
Replace the Switch (Biktrix Suggested Route)
Bypass the Switch and make it not impact the bike's operation
