Introduction

Follow along with these instructions to install te Rack Mounted Range Extender Battery onto your Roguehawk FS eBike and extend your riding distance even further!

You will need the following tools to do this:

  • 5mm Allen Key

  • 10mm Wrench

  • Scissors/Wire Snips for Allen Keys

  • Needlenose Pliers (may make some clamp manipulation easier)

Step 1

  • Check to ensure you have all the necessary hardware before beginning the installation. You should have the following pieces of hardware:

    • 6 M6x20 Bolts

    • 12 M6 Washers

    • 6 M6 Locknuts

    • 2 Clamps

    • 5 Small Zip Ties

  • Unlock the battery from the rear rack using the key which should be attached to the rear rack portion of the assembly.

  • Slide the battery out from the rear rack by pulling it AWAY from the lock

Step 2

  • Take the now-empty rear rack, and place it over the rear rack of the bike. With the lock and wire facing the front of the bike, away from the taillight, align the holes on each rack together.

  • Hole by hole, do the following:

    • Push a bolt UPWARDS, through a washer and through the hole.

    • Slide a washer over the top, then loosely thread on the locknut.

    • Repeat for all 4 holes.

  • Keep these bolts loose for now to allow for some wiggle room - we will fully tighten them later!

Step 3

  • Take the two clamps. Pull them apart to make the gap wider - that will make installing these easier.

  • Slide one clamp onto the lefthand side of the rear rack. Ensure the flat side of this faces downwards, and the upper, curved side should fit nicely over the stock rack, and the battery rack.

  • Push the ends with holes together the best you can. Install a bolt and washer through it, and secure this with a locknut and washer on the other side.

    • You may need to use some pliers to manipulate the ends to align the holes to slide the bolt through!

  • Repeat for the second side with the other clamp.

Step 4

  • Take your 5mm Allen key and 10mm Wrench.

  • Go to each of the 6 bolts you have installed. Tighten them 1 by 1, using the Allen Key to tighten the bolt while you hold the bolt steady with the wrench

    • Depending on the tools you have it may be easier to do this the other way around.

    • Remember there are the 4 bolts on the rack, and one on each clamp!

  • Check, then double-check that ALL 6 BOLTS are tight and secure before proceeding further!

Step 5

  • Locate the power wire coming from the rack, and the Range Extender port on the non-drive side of the seattube of the bike.

  • Open the flap for the range extender port.

  • Plug the Power wire from the rack into the corresponding port of the eBike.

  • There is a ring on the connector of the power wire - rotate this to lock the connector onto the port!

Step 6

  • Use some zip ties to secure the power tire to the rear rack and the bike. See the attached image for suggested locations for some, but you can add more or less in other locations as needed!

Your Rack Mounted Range Extender is now ready for use. Install the battery into it and go out for a ride!
